Our aim is the advancement, use and understanding of Biomedical Engineering through research and practice, the promotion and interchange of ideas and interests in this area as well as the representation of persons working in these fields. Since 1966 the SMBE NSW has firmly established itself in Biomedical Engineering and Clinical Technology and has experienced an increase in membership not just from NSW and QLD but also from the other states and territories of Australia. It is now one of the largest Biomedical and Clinical Engineering organizations in Australia.
